Black Fortress Barbarians on course for first ever Serie A title after 6 goal romp

A 6-1 thrashing of Millionaires at Cadbury Park has sent Black Fortress Barbarians top of the Serie A with just 2 games of the season to go. BFB took advantage of Lion Lakers’ 2-0 loss to third placed Legoland United to leap-frog their Castleland neighbours.

BFB, who famously lost the first ever Serie A play-off in 1999, are now within touching distance of their first major honour. A home tie with Castleland United and a tricky away visit to Inter Police all but remain.

BFB’s demolition of Millionaires opened in the 11th minute with a deflected shot from Rafael van der Vaart beating Millionaire’s Simon Mignolet. The Sweets did equalise through Marco Zagaria in the 31st minute but Richard Dunne bagged the first of 2 before the half-time interval to put BFB back in front. A second half brace from Samuel Eto’o and goals from Diego Milito and Dunne sealed the win.

Lion Lakers, fell to Legoland United at the Palace of Invalids with Xabi Alonso and Leper scoring the Reds’ goals. Leper finally overtook Samion at the top of the club’s goalscoring chart.
