Legoland United trashed 4-0 By Sampdoria in shock defeat

A new-look Legoland United went down to a shock 4-0 home defeat at the newly renovated San Siro stadium in Legoland City today. United, who were fielding 4 new signings in their starting eleven, were hoping to turn around a recent slump in form and come away with the much needed 3 points to put them back in the chase for the league championship. It was the visitors however who left with all the points in the bag and at the same time heaping pressure on United manager, Mr United.

United had splashed out £16m in the past week bringing in 4 signings – Victor Selvaraj, David Coulibaly, Andrea Coda and Jose Luis Calderon. All started today’s fixture but they clearly had no time to gel as a team and Sampdoria took full advantage taking the lead on the quarter of an hour mark through a strike by Gennaro Delvecchio. With 10 minutes before the half-time interval Angelo Palombo headed Sampdoria into a 2-0 lead to the annoyance of the home crowd.

The second half went from bad to worse with Sampdoria tearing the United rearguard apart, with defender Giulio Falcone heading past United keeper Antonioli in the 62nd minute. Mr United was furious at his side tearing lumps of hair from his head and that was before the visitor’s hitman Fabio Bazzani finished the rout in injury-time, rounding Antonioli to make it 4-0.

The Reds are now in one of their worst runs in history having now lost their last 3 SuperLeague matches and collecting just one win in their last 8 games.
