Draw in the clash of the top two sees Celebs retain 5 point lead over chasing Legoland FC

League leaders Celebs’ 1-1 draw with second place Legoland FC has seen the Turin side retain their 5 point advantage over the Blues and keeps the pressure firmly on that of Claudio Ranieri’s men.

Although both sides shared the points, and although Celebs will be happy with the result, the leaders came close to victory, a victory which would have no doubt dealt a huge blow to LFC’s title hopes.

Celebs took the lead in the 35th minute after some poor defending from Alessandro Grandoni allowed Markus Schopp to beat the Blues’ offside trap and feed the ball to Mohamed Kallon who emphatically beat the on-rushing Francesco Toldo. Celebs dominated the both halfs of the game and claim close to taking a 2-0 lead through chances for Cristiano Ronaldo and David Odonkor.

It was however LFC’s Gardinian international Robinho who stole the headlines after scoring the hugely important equaliser in the 71st minute against the run of play. Robinho solo ran past the Rich Gits’ defence to fire home a rocket past a stunned Toni Prats in the Celeb’s goal. LFC hung on despite a late scare when Kallon seemed clear through only for the offside flag to be raised.

Both Celebs and LFC will now be hoping that they will not regret the result of this fixture later in the league campaign. The next time both sides meet will be in LFC’s stronghold, the Partizan stadium, on the last day of the season in May.

In other results, the Emperor’s club Juventus moved into third place following a 2-1 win over Inter Police, fourth-placed Roma trounced Greentown Athletic 5-0 and fifth place Lion Lakers defeated struggling Robin Rangers 2-1.
