A major breakthrough in the long-standing conflict between the central government and Legoban that has ravaged Castleland and Basicstan for six years has been secured following the signing of a conditional ceasefire.

Agreement to lay down arms was attained following the acceptance of Emperor David to relinquish control of a sizable area of western Castleland and north and east Basicstan to Legoban chieftains, or clerics. Settlements that now find themselves under the rule and laws of the movement include the city of Medina and the smaller towns of Narbala, An Amm and Mar Pesh.

With opposition outlawed there was no opposition.

Under the deal the Legoban will have full control over these areas but the territory will notionally remain part of the Empire. Imperial Army and internal security forces will not be permitted to enter the Cleriphate (Legoban controlled lands) without the consent of the Assembly of the Clerics. Regions under Legoban rule will be governed by the laws of Classicism and ensuing feudalism with all hints of modern life eradicated. The Legoland Pound will be replaced by the Denar gold coin.

In return the Legoban are obliged to pay an annual tribute to Davidium of 25% of any crop surplus and 20% of tax revenues, end their alliance with the Al-Medahyin group and prohibit the worship of false gods. The worship of current and past Emperors and Grand Clerics will permitted within the boundaries of the Cleriphate.

Legoban ruler Grand Cleric Ullah Abbas announced the formation of the Cleriphate and is expected to establish Mar Pesh as the capital following an Assembly of the Clerics.

Rumours are rampant in Castleland that regional leader Lord Colossus Denarius was furious at news of the accord equating the peaceful end to conflict as a stamp of failure on the fruitless campaign waged by his rag-tag State Defence Legion militia.
