Old Rule suffer damaging shock defeats in opening day of the new Serie A season

The new football season kicked off with a bang today with shocks for the league’s two powerhouses, LFC and Legoland United.

In the capital, Legoland United under their first game without former manager Gregory “United”, lost in dramatic fashion going down 3-2 to Magic Wolves. The Castleland visitors lived up to their new name with Julio Baptista scoring a fairy-tale winner seconds after Samion had netted an equaliser for the home side in the 79th minute.

The result raises questions whether new manager David Balleri is up to the task just months after hanging up his boots. The other half of the Old Rule, Legoland FC, put in a miserable show at Magic Wolves’ neighbours, Segasonic Snowfalls. A 2-0 loss was sealed on the hour mark when Tomasso Rocchi fired home a penalty after Fernando Torres was adjudged to have fouled Peter Odemwingie in the LFC area.

Elsewhere, newly promoted Bulls stormed to the league’s summit with a 5-0 demolition of Atlas Bell in Basicstan.

Former Marino star Wook Jin-You and Jeremy Menez both netted twice in the win. BFB’s new £15m signing Rafael van der Vaart flew to the top of the scoring charts with his hat-trick in his side’s 4-0 win at Port Villa.

Champions Lion Lakers also picked up 3 points with a narrow 2-1 win over Medalin.
